Vijayashanti's speeches gain popularity
Jainoor: Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti has become popular for her breathless speeches that too without consulting notes during the election campaign. It is almost a repeat of Shankar Mahadevan’s Breathless where the singer does not take a breath in the entire song.
Ms Vijayashanti’s spontaneous speeches are being considered more powerful than the speeches of other leaders now.
She speaks for five minutes non-stop without taking a break in between. Her speeches attract crowds as she highlights women issues, those of the the youth and downtrodden. She has become an asset as a crowd puller for the Congress and the Mahakutami with her aggressive speeches.
Many people of lower castes and Dalits, women and downtrodden sections are being attracted to her aggressive speeches as she is touching on their pain and addressing the problems they were facing for centuries. She touches upon the symbols of caste occupations, tools of caste occupations, social agitations and Adivasis during her speech and calls upon the people to fight against feudal forces.
People shout ‘Ramulamma Ramulamma’ (one of her memorable characters on screen) when she is seen on the dais during public meetings. Ms Vijayashanti’s speech had a women audience spellbound at Mahila Saddassu held at Karimnagar.
Her speech touched upon women issues, fee reimbursement, women suicides and lack of safety of women. She is the only leader now touring the entire state to bring the Congress to power and unlike many other party leaders, she is not contesting the elections.
She has gone to the interior, Maoist-affected areas. Along with Mr Mallu Batti Vikramarka, she had visited Tummidihatti, Pranahitha Chevella project site, located on the state borders and even enjoyed a ride in the country boat on the river Pranahitha in Kautala mandal in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district.
