Get from centre ₹897 crore for mega textile park, KTR tells BJP chief
SIRCILLA: IT minister and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao has demanded that Karimnagar MP and state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar take initiative for getting sanctioned from central government ₹ 897 crore for the Mega Textile Park being established in Warangal.
“Sanjay must also take responsibility for starting the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology at Pochampally,” the minister underlined. The other projects he wanted the BJP chief to get from centre are a textile research institute and 11 handloom clusters for Telangana.
Rama Rao made these demands after a sudden visit to Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday for presiding over the district-level review meeting with officials of various departments. He went on to accuse the BJP government at the centre for doing nothing for Telangana state in the seven budgets it has introduced till date. Neither has it done anything for weavers, he charged.
The minister underlined that Rajanna Sircilla administration is ready to face Corona third wave and check its spread. All medicines and equipment have been made available in required quantities at government hospitals in the district. Officials have been given free hand to deploy additional staff required for combating the third wave.
He pointed out that Sircilla district is in the fifth place in terms of administering vaccination.
Rama Rao said the process for selecting beneficiaries under Dalit Bandhu scheme has started in 13 mandals and two municipalities of the district. He further announced that as many as 510 government schools have been selected in the district for modernisation and renovation under Mana Ooru-Mana Bandi programme.
ZP chairperson N. Aruna, district collector Anurag Jayanti, SP Rahul Hegde, Sircilla municipal chairperson Jindam Kala, DM&HO Dr. Suman Mohan Rao, SC corporation executive director Vinod Kumar, DEO Radha Kishan and municipal commissioner Sammaiah were among those present.
