Komatireddy meets Revanth, Thakre
Hyderabad: Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who has stayed away from Congress activities since the Munugode bypoll, visited Gandhi Bhavan on Friday and met TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and AICC Telangana in-charge Manik Rao Thakre.
Venkat Reddy and Revanth Reddy discussed various issues during their 30 minutes meeting. Subsequently, he met Thakre.
"Venkat Reddy was upset over the constitution of the new TPCC committees. Some individuals, whose names he referred to, could not get posts. The same was discussed with Revanth Reddy and Thakre on Friday," sources said.
Later, Venkat Reddy said, “I asked the senior leaders to be ready for elections. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would go for elections during the stipulated period. People are waiting to vote for Sonia Gandhi in Telangana."
"I suggested that the party announce names of at least 50 to 60 candidates much before the elections so that they will have time to meet and interact with the cadre. Announcing names a week before the elections will not yield results," he said.
Meanwhile, Thakre convened a meeting of the committee members on the Haat Se Haat Jodo yatra from January 26 and directed the members to take measures to ensure its smooth conduct in Telangana.
Meanwhile, senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao left in a huff as he was upset that Thakre did not accept his invitation to grace the Rajiv Gandhi cricket tournament that he is organising at Amberpet.
