MLA Dasyam behind attack on Youth Cong leader: DCC
WARANGAL: High tension prevailed in Hanamkonda on Tuesday with the Congress leaders led by DCC president Naini Rajendar staged a protest in front of the police commissionerate seeking justice for Youth Congress leader Thota Pavan who was brutally attacked by some miscreants in the city on Monday.
Pavan, who suffered severe head and stomach injuries in the attack during the Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra by TPCC chief Revanth Reddy held here under the Warangal West Assembly segment, was rushed to the hospital. The video of the victim lying in a pool of blood went viral on social media as the spot was a stone’s throw away from the police station.
The police identified the attackers after examining the CCTV footage of the location. As the attack on the Youth Congress leader sent shock waves across the Warangal district, DCC president Naini Rajendar, along with a large number of Congress workers, staged a dharna at the police commissionerate, demanding the police to take immediate action against MLA and Government Chief Whip D. Vinay Bhaskar alleging that he instigated his followers and BRS activists to attack Pavan and to kill him for putting up flexies exposing the irregularities of the MLA.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) S. Sundar Raj, speaking to the media, said that neither the BRS party nor the MLA has anything to do with the murder of the Youth Congress youth leader.
He alleged that Pavan had posted some objectionable comments on social media against Chhatrapati Shivaji to which some miscreants objected and attacked him. The Congress leaders who are not able to face BRS politically, are dragging the name of MLA Vinay Bhaskar into the issue, trying to malign his image, he said.
Meanwhile, the police officials deployed additional forces at the MLA’s camp office to prevent any untoward incident and launched a manhunt for the miscreants.
