KTR asks party leaders and workers to gear up for plenary

Hyderabad: BRS working president and IT minister K.T.Rama Rao asked party MLAs, district incharges and conveners to hold ‘Atmeeya Sammelans’ with party workers in all the Assembly constituencies by April 20 in the run-up to the party’s plenary on April 27.

The minister reminded party leaders that party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had directed them to hold the sammelans to improve the rapport between grassroots-level workers and state-level leaders, as well as to raise awareness among the 60 lakh party workers about the welfare schemes and development programmes implemented by the BRS government over the last nine years.

Rama Rao, who is in New Delhi, held a teleconference with the party MLAs and party leaders on Monday to ready the party for upcoming plenary while urging them to organise the sammelans for every four-five divisions of each village. The emphasis will be on explaining the importance of the party cadre, their role in the Telangana movement and later in the formation of the Telangana government, the conditions prior to the formation of Telangana and its progress thereafter, and the changing face of the state and its development under the BRS regime.

He asked them to hold the BRS delegates meetings on April 25 in every Assembly constituency which will be attended by around 1,000-1,500 delegates from all villages and mandals. Marking the party foundation day, the BRS flag hoisting celebrations will be held in every village and ward on April 27. On the same day, the party plenary will be held in Hyderabad with select invitees.

Rama Rao said a special message from the CM to the party activists, will be shared, to remind them of their contribution since the Telangana statehood movement and later, their support in formation of the BRS government twice in the state and it should be read out in all the party meetings. He asked the state level leaders to attend the sammelans as special guests.

The minister asked them to discuss extensively in the meetings about the current socio-economic conditions in the country, particularly the increase in fuel prices and essential commodities, and the flawed policies of the Modi government. He emphasised the need to explain to the people about the injustice done by the Modi government to Telangana.
