YSRC govt. failed to complete even a single irrigation project, says Naidu
TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday that the YSR Congress failed to complete even a single irrigation project.
“This party came to power by requesting the people to give it one chance, and yet they did not perform,” Naidu said in a frontal attack on the ruling party.
Addressing the public during a road show at Markapur in Prakasam district as part of his Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki, the former chief minister said that irrigation projects started under the Telugu Desam government's period remained completely stalled after the YSRC came to power.
“The next Telugu Desam government will complete all the pending projects, including Polavaram,” he said and claimed that it was the TD that always stood by the poor and protected the state. He called on the people to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2024 Assembly elections.
Naidu said farmers were struggling owing to lack of resources and minimum support price. “If the TD government is elected, it will offer water to every acre of land and MSP to the farmer’s produce,” he said.
The TD chief also said he would complete the Veligonda project. “It would be my duty to bring more investments to the state and help establish more companies.” Naidu also said the people of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would soon play a key role in shaping the country's future.
The TD's ideology statement, a copy of which was released here, said the Telugu Desam, particularly Chandrababu Naidu, worked for the welfare of the people on the party's welfare-based ideology and took the state to newer heights in the past 25 years.
According to the statement, united AP made great strides in technology and got itself established as an IT hub during Naidu’s chief ministership. “After bifurcation, Naidu worked extensively with Vision 2029 to create an eco-system leveraging the competitive advantage of the state to take AP to the number-one position and a model state in the country.”
“The TD vows to not let the state fail due to the policies of the present ruling dispensation which totally destroyed the ecosystem,” the ideology document said.
It said, “With the true Janmabhoomi spirit, the TD believes that it is time to promote and encourage the family as a unit. Chandrababu Naidu strongly believes that the only way to bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots is to have a defined vision and use the technology as an enabler.”
