BJP demands KTR's resignation

HYDERABAD: The Telangana BJP on Wednesday demanded the immediate resignation of IT and MA&UD minister K.T. Rama Rao as it has been proved that the state had received from the central government than what he had claimed was given to Telangana.

Party spokesperson Rani Rudrama told reporters that Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, during his recent presentation, had given a full and clear account of how much the state has received in finances and other services from the Centre.

“Rao, who said if it is proved that the state received more than Rs 1,68,647 crore, then he would resign. It has been three days since Kishan Reddy proved that Telangana got much more than this number. Where is his resignation?”

She reiterated that it was not just Rs 1,68, 647 crore that the state received but also another Rs 1,78,000 crore was given as tax devolution share, in addition to an additional Rs 4,98,531 crore spent by the Centre in Telangana on various development and welfare programmes.

“The total given by the Centre dwarfs the amount the state government has actually spent from 2014 and 2022 from the amounts claimed in its annual budgets,” she said.

The BJP will take to the people how the BRS government has been lying about Central assistance to Telangana and expose the ruling party’s lies, she said.

“Not just on finances, Rao must also resign for the failures related to the TSPSC question paper leaks as demanded by our state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar. And then are the deaths of children, who fell into the open nalas in the city, and suicides by Intermediate students. Rao owes responsibility for all,” she added.
