Tension at Tadipatri as TD cadres protest
Anantapur: A tense situation prevailed at Tadipatri after municipal chairman and TD leader J.C. Prabhakar Reddy tried to resist the construction of a compound wall at a government junior college by covering a 40-foot road instead of the actual 60-foot road, which was located opposite his house. Prabhakar Reddy’s men reportedly filled the pits dug to construct the compound wall of the junior college on grounds of no permission from municipal authorities. YSRC MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy was supposed to visit the area, and additional forces have been posted at the spot to avoid untoward incidents.
The Tadipatri police reportedly evacuated TD cadres and close aides of Prabhakar Reddy from his residence in view of a call for protest against the construction of the compound wall by violating norms and also creating disturbance and traffic at his residence. “Even as all roads in Tadipatri were followed with widening without any violation of the master plan, the MLA was trying to disturb law and order by mounting pressure on officials to construct the compound wall of the junior college at 40-foot instead of following the 60-foot road,” Prabhakar Reddy alleged and was surprised why the police closed all roads towards his residence and sent back the party cadres from his residence.
