Congress Ticket Aspirants Experiencing Anxious Moments
Adilabad: Congress leaders are experiencing anxious moments with the second list of the party scheduled to be announced by the AICC any time.
Only three candidates had been announced from the erstwhile Adilabad and two from Khammam district in the first list. Not having found their names in it, aspirants have intensified their lobbying. They have approached their political godfathers for tickets to contest in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Some of the ticket aspirants from erstwhile Adilabad district have even reached Delhi on receiving information that the screening committee will be meeting on October 21 to finalise the party candidates.
Some of the ticket aspirants met TPCC president Revanth Reddy and former AICC president Rahul Gandhi during the Vijayabheri Bus yatra and pushed their candidatures.
Ticket aspirants from Khanapur and Boath assembly constituencies are a bit wary about Congress nominating them for these seats. This is because their sitting MLAs Rekha Naik and Rathod Bapu Rao, both of BRS, are planning to switch over to Congress, provided they are nominated from their respective seats.
Congress leaders, whose names have been announced in the first list, have intensified their campaign in their respective assembly constituencies. They are taking forward the six guarantee schemes announced by the TPCC.
