Kurnool: Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath has emphasised that the government’s primary responsibility is to protect the people’s money, human lives, and safety, and the neighbouring states and countries are aware of the best policies implemented by the state to combat anti-social activities. He participated in the martyrs’ commemoration day in Nandyal on Saturday and commended the effectiveness of the Disha app launched by the state government for women’s safety.
Buggana fondly remembered that during his childhood, his father expressed a desire to see him in the army, although his deep affection prevented him from pursuing that path. He expressed that his role in public service was made possible through the opportunity given by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the realm of politics, considering it a form of national service.
The minister acknowledged the sacrifices of the police force and mentioned the unfortunate loss of 188 police personnel across the country, including constable Narendranath and home guard Rajasekhar in the district, who lost their lives while trying to maintain law and order. Buggana assured full support for the relief programmes to assist their families.
Nandyal district was commended for its transition from a faction-prone area to a district with a robust administrative system, and he applauded the dedication and service of the police force.
Speaking at the event, district collector Manazir Jeelani Samoon praised the sacrifices made by the police force, stressing their unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring public welfare, even in challenging circumstances. He expressed confidence that the police’s presence at a crime scene instills courage and belief in the community that justice would be served. District superintendent of police K. Raghuveer Reddy stressed the importance of building strong relationships with the community and understanding their needs to maintain law and order effectively.
Further, Kurnool collector G. Srijana stressed the collective responsibility of society to honour the sacrifices of police officers and pledged support for the families of police martyrs.
District SP G. Krishnakanth highlighted the continued dedication of the police force, even during the Covid-19 pandemic, and underscored the vital role of the police system in upholding law and order and preventing the rise of anti-social and disruptive elements in society. Senior police officials and others were present.
