Puvvada claims Khammam caterpillar has turned a butterfly

Khammam: Khammam BRS MLA and transport minister Puvvada Ajay has coined a new slogan “Abki Baar Pachas Hajaar,” claiming he will win the forthcoming assembly elections from Khammam constituency with a majority of 50,000 votes.

Ajay exudes confidence that he will win the election overwhelmingly whoever his opponent may be with the blessing of the people who are happy with the development he has carried out in the constituency, including roads, an IT hub, a bus stand, mini-tank bunds, a water facility, police commissionerate and a new integrated collectorate complex.

The minister claimed that Khammam, which had been a caterpillar (Gongalipururgu), has transformed into a butterfly under his leadership in the last five years. He hoped to win Khammam with 50,000 votes this time (Abki Baar Pachas Hajaar) against the 5,000-vote majority in 2014 and 10,000 in 2018.

Ajay maintained that people will reference Khammam in terms of development before and after Ajay. He underlined that he has brought in many reforms in TSRTC (Telangana State Road Transportation Corporation), apart from transparency in its working system.

He said it is his fortune to introduce the bill that enabled TSRTC to become a government department.

Kamma population is considerable in Khammam assembly constituency and Ajay belongs to this community. There is every possibility that former minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao of BRS, who recently joined the Congress, will contest from Khammam.

News is that Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy convinced the Congress high command that the party’s winning prospects will be high if Nageshwar Rao is fielded from Khammam, since he is considered a strong Kamma leader.

Ponguleti himself will contest from Paleru assembly constituency.
