Belagavi: The Opposition BJP on Monday demanded CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation over alleged charges of 'pressurising' the doctor who conducted the post-mortem on DySP M.K. Ganapathy to term it a suicide.
The BJP members raised anti-government slogans in the Assembly forcing an adjournment for ten minutes on Monday.
The allegations were first telecast by some local news channels which said Dr Shailaja who conducted the post-mortem on Ganapathy's body last year, had gave a written statement to the CBI, now investigating the Ganapathy case.
Leader of the opposition, Jagadish Shettar alleged that the state government was trying its best to protect Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George, who is the prime accused in the case. The state government is conspiring against the Ganapathy family and it has therefore become necessary to seek the resignation of none other than Mr Siddaramaiah himself, said Mr Shettar.
Doc: No pressure
Mysuru: With fresh reports suggesting that bullets were found in the room of the Madikeri lodge, where DySP M K Ganapathy was found hanging over a year ago, some are now beginning to question the authenticity of the autopsy report given by the Madikeri government hospital following his death.
But denying the allegation that her postmortem report was doctored to suit the requirements of the state government, Dr Shylaja N of the hospital told DC that she had faced no pressure from anyone when giving it. She, however, refused to say whether the report mentioned the cause of death as bullets fired from a gun or hanging. All she said was, “The CBI officers asked me to submit the documents and I have done it.”
