HYDERABAD: BJP state vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar organised Vana Bhojanam (community lunch) for people of Uppal constituency, which he represented earlier, here on Sunday.
The programme organised at a farm house in Keesara village was to mark Karthika Masam.
A special puja was performed to an amla tree and naming ceremony of a Punganoor breed calf as Dhanalaxmi. Women in large numbers took part in the pujas, which was followed by traditional lunch being served to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said that dharma and culture should be protected. Indian heritage and culture taught us to lead quality life, he added.
