Jagan government aims shelter for all in AP: Minister

The minister visited 533 houses and asked inmates about implementation of the government’s welfare schemes

VIJAYAWADA: Housing minister Jogi Ramesh on Saturday said the aim of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s flagship Pedalandariki Illu housing programme is to provide an own house to all people of the state.

Conducting his ‘Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam' mass contact programme at Ramavarapumodi village under Amudalapalli sachivalayam of Bantumilli mandal in Krishna district on Saturday, Jogi Ramesh told people that the state government's wants to ensure that every eligible beneficiary gets benefitted by at least one welfare scheme.

The minister visited 533 houses and asked inmates about implementation of the government’s welfare schemes. He instructed officials to resolve all issues of the public without fail as part of the mass contact programme.

Jogi Ramesh pointed out that for the first time, Jagan Mohan Reddy has distributed 31 lakh house pattas worth ₹26,000 crore in the state. His deed will thus become part of history.

He underlined that in Phase 1, about 15.60 lakh houses are under construction, with basic infrastructure being provided in each house.

During the minister’s visit, several farmers complained about the absence of three-phase electricity and wanted the issue resolved. Jogi Ramesh promised to do so on priority basis.
