Goonda raj in Warangal, cries Revanth

WARANGAL: The historical town of Warangal has been under the grip of lumpen (goondas) elements for the past nine years, according to TPCC president Revanth Reddy, who claimed that Congress youth leader Thota Pavan was attacked on Monday at the behest of Warangal West BRS MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar.

Revanth Reddy met with Warangal police commissioner A.V. Ranganath to lodge a complaint against Bhaskar and demanded that a case be registered against him for conspiracy to kill the party youth leader, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hanamkonda district.

If the BRS intended to pursue politics on the basis of attacks, the Congress was ready for that, Revanth Reddy stated while noting, "let the BRS pick where the Congress leaders should come either to the KCR's farmhouse or the Hunter Road in Warangal."

He warned BRS MLAs not to interpret the Congress’ silence as weakness and that if they chose to convene their party workers, not only the BRS MLAs and Ministers but even the Chief Minister will be unable to attend a meeting anywhere in the state.

BRS MLAs were involved in land, sand, and mining mafias, as well as “converting the youth into ganja addicts” and exploiting them for personal gain through the formation of gangs, he alleged.

“Vinay Bhaskar is the man behind these attacks and running the organised lumpen elements,” Revanth charged. The police instead of arresting him and his followers were trying to save them, he alleged.
