TD’s Seema zonal meet on Feb. 25
ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam’s Rayalaseema zonal meeting will be held on the open grounds near Kadapa Airport on February 25. TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu will be participating in the regional-level meeting, which is aimed at strengthening the party in the region.
As the meeting is in Kadapa, the home turf of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu has informed party workers to take the necessary measures for providing security at the regional-level meet.
There have been a series of controversies and attacks on TD offices and party workers, including at the party office in Gannavaram. Thus, not just Naidu is wary about the prospects of holding the meeting within the Rayalaseema region. Even higher ups in police are keen on preventing any untoward developments at the meeting being held in the CM’s stronghold.
Kadapa Telugu Desam leaders have opted for open lands closer to the Kadapa Airport, as more than 10,000 party leaders and cadres are expected to take part in the meeting.
TD organising secretaries Govardhan Reddy and Hariprasad said leaders and party activists from 38 assembly segments of Anantapur, Kurnool, Hindupur, Nandyal and Kadapa regions will be part of the Rayalaseema zonal meeting. Along with main leaders, in-charges of constituencies, clusters and units will be participating in the meeting.
“We are making necessary arrangements, including parking and food for participating leaders,” Govardhan Reddy and Hariprasad stated.
Kadapa DSP Venkata Shiva Reddy and CI Ashok Reddy visited the zonal meeting venue on Tuesday and inquired about details of arrangements. The DSP advised that several changes be made at the meeting venue and other places. He wanted TDP leaders and activists to abide by rules and regulations.
