No protection to women under YSRC government: TD Mahila
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Mahila, the women’s wing of TD, along with other parties, organised a Mahila Atma Gourava Deeksha in Vijayawada on Friday, wherein leaders who spoke alleged that YSRC government has failed to ensure safety of women in AP.
Speaking on the occasion, Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anita alleged that during the rule of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, 1.14 lakh crimes and 490 assaults have been reported against women.
TD leader Pithala Sujatha alleged that on an average, 50 atrocities are committed against women in Andhra Pradesh. “The state ranks first in India in anarchy against women. Jagan Mohan Reddy should be ashamed of this,” Sujatha remarked.
Women leaders Achanta Sunitha, Gadde Anuradha, Tangirala Soumya, Sugunamma, Malati, Durgabhavani and former MP Konakalla Narayana Rao addressed the gathering.
