Rajgopal says battle for Telangana starts in Munugode
MUNUGODE: Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on Sunday strongly defended his decision to resign his Munugode Assembly seat to join the BJP and take on the TRS in the byelection. He said that his actions were not in pursuit of position or power but to launch a fight to the finish against family rule in the state in order to save democracy.
Speaking at a public meeting where he was welcomed into the party fold by Union home minister Amit Shah, Reddy said that some had accused him of selling himself to the BJP for personal gains.
“No one can buy me. If I ever bow my head, it will be before the people. This is a battle that has to be waged against the dictatorial family rule. Despite three years as an MLA and taking many issues of the people to the notice of the government, it did nothing,” Rajgopal Reddy said.
Referring to Chief Minister’s comments at Saturday’s public meeting on Shah, Narendra Modi, enforcement directorate and the CBI, Rajgopal Reddy said only those who commit sins, or have done wrong, are afraid of investigations.
“I need your support. Let us show that we can bring down a corrupt government,” he said.
