TRS calls Amit Shah\'s meet a flop show
HYDERABAD: Ministers G. Jagadish Reddy and Koppula Eshwar dubbed Union minister Amit Shah’s “15-minute speech” in Munugode an “utter flop show”. Speaking to the media in Suryapet, they slammed the Union minister for delivering a “bundle of lies” and levelling “baseless allegations” against the TRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Jagadish Reddy said Shah had failed to answer even a “single question” raised by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at the TRS public meeting in Munugode on Saturday. He questioned Shah’s silence on Telangana's share in Krishna waters and promises made to Telangana under AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
"Amit Shah's speech did not match the stature of a Union home minister. It seemed as if he was speaking like Bandi Sanjay. Munugode people expected sops or a special package for the development of Munugode from Shah as he is considered No.2 in the NDA government. But their hopes were shattered as he confined himself to silly politics, votes and seats. It proved what Chandrashekar Rao was right that the BJP's agenda was only to fix meters for agriculture motors," Jagadish Reddy said.
In a media statement, Eshwar alleged that the BJP leaders offered `1,000 per person to attend the meeting but still failed to mobilise a crowd. "They spent crores of rupees to mobilise a crowd. That has gone waste as there was no response from the people forcing Shah to end his speech in 15 minutes. BJP leaders were red faced after the meeting ended in a flop show," Eshwar said.
