Rayachoti PG college to start soon
KADAPA: All efforts are on to start as early as possible a post-graduate college in Rayachoti town of Kadapa district. The state government has already sanctioned the PG college. A recent meeting of the state cabinet also decided to transfer 54 acres of land belonging to Yogi Vemana (YV) University for establishment of the post-graduate college. Only clearance from the finance department is pending.
Government chief whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy had a lengthy discussion with YV University vice chancellor Munagala Suryakalavati and registrar Vijaya Raghava Prasad on Tuesday regarding setting up of the college. Srikanth Reddy assured that financial approvals will be received soon. “All requirements necessary for development of the PG college will be fulfilled,” the chief whip stated.
It has been decided to start MA Urdu, public administration, M. Com and M. Sc in Computer Science and Maths initially. Pending construction of new PG college buildings, it has been decided to start temporarily classes at Rayachoti Degree College from this academic year itself.
University officials said they will fast track steps to recruit assistant professors and other staff once financial approvals are received.
Vice-Chancellor Suryakalavati told Deccan Chronicle that PG classes will start from the 2021–22 academic year at the YVU Post Graduation Centre in Rayachoti. "We are moving forward with the aim of making higher education accessible to students in Rayachoti area," she underlined.
