YSRC seeks closure of website for illegal voter profiling'

Vijayawada: The YSR Congress has lodged complaints with the Election Commission saying the Telugu Desam is involved in “illegal voter profiling” of citizens based on caste, political preference of the voters and also capturing personal information using their web application https://www.mypartydashboard.com

The ruling party sought stern action against those involved in such acts.

YSRC MPs, PV Mithun Reddy and V Vijayasai Reddy, alleged that the Telugu Desam launched mypartydashboard.com and committed "illegal voter profiling" and was in violation of Section 123(3) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. They urged the EC to shutdown the site mypartydashboard.com with immediate effect.

They said mypartydashboard.com website provides detailed information on the entire AP Voter List, including the latest additions, deletions and duplicates categorized on polling booth basis. The information includes sensitive details such as polling booth number, serial number, voter card number, name, Relation, Age, Gender, House Number, Caste, political party affiliation, mobile number, and political party-wise segregation of voters, among others.

“What is particularly alarming is that the website appears to have an exact replica of the EC voters list, raising questions about the potential misuse of electoral information. It has come to light that all the collected voter data is stored on a server located in a foreign country (USA),” they said.

The YSRC leaders recalled that this was not the first instance of data-related concerns involving TD. In the past, an FIR (174/2019) had been filed at Madhapur Police Station, Hyderabad, under 120b, 379, 420, 188 IPC, 72, 66-B ITA-2000-2008 act/sections related to their Seva Mithra application. The nature of the information collected strongly suggested that the TD might have obtained electoral information through questionable means and would be utilising it for potentially corrupt practices, as defined under Section 123 of the Representation of People Act.”
