Get voter or else: Karnataka minister Sa Ra Mahesh to MLAs
Mysuru: Tourism minister Sa Ra Mahesh said ministers and MLAs would be held accountable in case of a dip in percentage of votes polled as JD (S) would expect figures similar to that registered during last year’s elections to the Legislative Assembly.
He told the media here: “If any coalition candidate is neglected, we may have to answer post the Lok Sabha elections. For those who do not follow coalition dharma, there will be warning as a first step and later disciplinary action will be taken. Both Congress and JD (S) will adopt the same formula in this regard. We will not give scope for misunderstandings. If there are any (misgivings) we will sort them out.”
When asked about Congress leaders of KR Nagar constituency, represented by him, extending support to Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh earlier this week, he said: “I have already brought this issue to the notice of Mr Siddaramaiah over telephone. He has assured to resolve it,” he said adding “Differences between Congress and JD (S) leaders in old Mysuru region is common for several years. But the ultimate result matters. So it is inevitable to follow coalition dharma and stay united. Our intention is to secure the highest number of votes. Mr H D Deve Gowda has promised Mr Rahul Gandhi to ensure victory of 20 candidates in Lok Sabha polls. Our coalition candidates will win both in Mandya and Mysuru Kodagu constituency for sure,” he added.
About attacks on film actors by JD (S) MLA Mr Narayangowda, he said “Party leaders have considered personal attacks on Yash and Darshan seriously. And they have instructed party workers not to indulge in personal attacks against an one who support any candidate,” he added.
