Nikhil prefers a decent campaign, asks supporters to desist from personal jibes
Mysuru: Mandya JD(S)-Congress coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Friday disapproved of personal attacks on rivals remarking, “we should not engage in such attacks and even they should not do it. It is not good. Ultimately the people will decide (our fate) and we will have to bow before their judgement.”
Speaking to media persons at a joint press meet of JD (S) and Congress leaders in Mandya on Friday, Nikhil was asked why only a section of Congress members were supporting him in Mandya and replied, “I am the candidate of the Congress-JD(S) coalition. It is my responsibility to take both of them along and I will do it.”
When asked about the statement of Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh during her convention in Mandya on Wednesday that when CM H.D. Kumaraswamy can come to campaign for his son Nikhil, what was wrong in actors Darshan and Yash doing the same for someone they considered their mother, he said, “I will not comment on it. It is their opinion.”.
When asked if the present political developments had affected his friendship with Abhishek Ambareesh, he said, “It has definitely not made any impact on our relationship. I will not let relationships break due to politics. I value relationships. He is my brother. We will remain brothers forever.”
