Special Investigation Team takes Jagan Mohan Reddy aide into custody
Kadapa: The Special Investigation Team probing the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder has taken into custody one Devireddy Siva Sankar Reddy alias Dondlavagu Sankar of Pulivendula, an alleged associate of YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He has been taken to a secret location for investigation. Police said Sankar was a close associate of former YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy as well. Mr Sankar Reddy filed nomination papers for the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency as a Nationalist Congress Party candidate.
The SIT has so far questioned more than 40 persons and arrested three: Parameswar Reddy, Yerra Gangi Reddy and Chandrasekhar Reddy. The SIT suspects that, Parameswar Reddy and and Gangi Reddy planned the murder which was executed by Chandra Sekhar Reddy.
Chandra Sekhar Reddy is the main accused in the murder of a businesssman Rangeswar Reddy, and is out on bail.
According to information, Vivekananda Reddy had interests in many land parcels in and around Pulivendula and Bengaluru. His finances were allegedly looked after by Parameswar Reddy and Gangi Reddy.
Police sources said they told Vivekananda Reddy about a problem with a Bengaluru site that is worth about Rs 150 crore. It is suspected that the murder was over this piece of land. Parameswar Reddy and Gangi Reddy reportedly approached Chandra Sekhar Reddy to murder the YSRC former MP and gave him a large sum of money.
It is said that a black SUV that was seen driving around the YSRC leader’s house in CCTV footage belonged to Chandra Sekhar Reddy. It is said that he had previously worked as an assistant to an advocate and understands the loopholes in the law. Parameswar Reddy has claimed that Vivekananda Reddy was murdered by thieves. Police also alleged that Gangi Reddy was involved in wiping off the evidence at the murder spot.
