Ambarish returns without meeting Siddaramaiah in Mysuru
Mysuru: The Congress battle for for Mandya may prove a bit tough this time as actor politician Mr Ambarish who was said to be in Mysuru in a hotel on Sunday, has left for Bengaluru without meeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his residence. CM Siddaramaiah too, who reportedly waited for him at his residence for long, left for HD Kote for a campaign rally later on Sunday.
Meanwhile Mr Ambarish’s friend and the owner of a private hotel where he reportedly stayed, told media persons, “Ambarish who arrived at my hotel in the wee hours of Sunday morning, had lunch here and left. He told me that he would not contest elections this time due to health reasons. And he would make it clear with an official statement on this by Monday evening. He has also said that he would not seek tickets for any one as the responsibility of ensuring their victory will then be on him. And he also said that he would not campaign for anybody,” he said.
On the other hand, supporters of Ambarish from Mandya who had gathered near the hotel to urge him to contest from Mandya, left disappointed on knowing that he had left the hotel. Meanwhile Mr Ambarish’s close aide, Mr Amaravathi Chandrashekar told mediapersons, “Ambarish anna will contest, else I will contest. It is most likely that Ambarish anna will contest and he will win and Siddaramaiah will become CM again. We will meet CM Siddaramaiah wherever he is,” he said.
