HoDs should shift by June 27: CM Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed all heads of departments (HoDs) to shift their offices to the spaces rented for them in Krishna and Guntur districts before June 27.
He conducted a meeting with higher officials on Sunday and reviewed the space available in both the districts. He directed Krishna district collector A. Babu to inform the HoDs about the availability of 8,00,000 sq feet of office space in Krishna district and show them where their departments would have to shift.
The government had earlier planned to construct two extra floors in the buildings of the temporary secretariat at Velagapudi to accommodate the HoDs' offices and had called for tenders too, but this proposal was subsequently abandoned.
Mr Naidu said that new furniture would be used at the temporary secretariat at Velagapudi, but the HoDs should use the furniture that they had at their Hyderabad offices in the new premises in Krishna and Guntur districts. He said they should finish shifting the HoDs’ offices before the construction of the temporary secretariat complex was completed. Mr Naidu said the offices of the CM, ministers and secretaries would start functioning in the temporary secretariat complex and suggested that the departments start working accordingly, attending to local issues.
