TD urges governor to focus on Avinash Reddy issue
Visakhapatnam: The Opposition TD has asked AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to focus his attention on the latest political developments in the state, vis-à-vis the law order situation arising out of the CBI attempts to arrest Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy.
The TD referred to the attempts by the YSRC leaders to prevent the arrest of the Kadapa MP, in connection with the Viveka murder case investigations.
State general secretary of the TD, Mohammed Nazir, said in a release in Visakhapatnam on Monday that the ruling party MLAs had been alleging that the arrest would lead to law and order problems in the state. “At the same time, the ruling party activists are attacking the media persons covering the developments.”
He said Y.S. Avinash Reddy as a parliamentarian should cooperate with the investigations.
“By creating hurdles in the arrest of the murder accused politician, the faction politics of the region had come to the fore. These developments are reflecting a Bihar style of politics in our state,” he said.
Meanwhile, South assembly constituency in charge and former MLA Gandi Babj told the media that the state was facing a severe shortage of power after the YSRC government cancelled the power purchase agreements made by the Chandrababu Naidu government.
He said that while making money from liquor sales, the government was destroying the health of the people by selling low quality liquor. The government, by making a token payment, manages the Arogyasri health insurance scheme and it might lead to a situation when the network hospitals refuse to treat patients under the scheme,” he said.
