HYDERABAD: Gandhi Bhavan witnessed a show of strength by the supporters of senior Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday. They were resenting his exclusion from the election management committee. The decision has hurt the BC leaders but they remained hopeful that the party leadership would render justice to BCs in the days ahead.
Decrying the decision, former MLA Anil Kumar Eravathri said, “I am also not satisfied for not getting my due share of recognition. I have been the chief whip in the party. I have conveyed my reservations to the state in-charge Manikrao Thakre. The social composition of the present committee of 29 has only five BC members. Social justice is lacking in the party’s campaign team now.”
Meanwhile, Thakre said, “We could not include Prabhakar in the election management committee as many have already been accommodated. He will soon be included in another key committee.”
