BRS candidates getting tickets now worried of key leaders' support

Karimnagar: Though the BRS sitting MLAs in erstwhile Karimnagar district are happy about being re-allotted the party tickets, many are now anxious about getting support from leaders who had been vying for their tickets. These legislators are now trying to make amends to get the support of the leaders who did not succeed in getting the tickets.

The main fear dogging the sitting MLAs is their rival ticket seekers could contest from their constituency as independents. However, some of those denied ruling party tickets have stepped up their efforts to join rival parties.

In Peddapalli district, Julapally ZPTC Boddula Lakshman had strongly opposed re-nomination of sitting MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy. Lakshman had gone on to announce that he would not support Manohar Reddy, as the latter has maligned the image of BRS in the constituency.

Another leader Nalla Manohar Reddy had taken up several social service activities and played a key role in strengthening BRS. Shocked at being denied the ticket, Nalla Manohar Reddy has released a statement that he is resigning from the ruling party. He made it clear that he would contest the forthcoming assembly election as a nominee of other parties or as an independent.

In Ramagundam constituency, as many as five leaders of the ruling party – K. Sandhya Rani, M. Raji Reddy, P. Yellaiah, K. Lakshmi Narayana and B. Manohar Reddy teamed up against sitting MLA K. Chander Patel, requesting party leadership that it allot the party ticket to one of them. But Chander Patel has managed to get the BRS ticket again.

Sandhya Rani has made a video and posted it on social media alleging that after getting the ticket, Chander Patel and his followers have started posting derogatory remarks against them. She said she will take a decision on contesting the coming elections after holding discussions with other leaders, her followers and BRS party cadre who are ready to support her.

In Manthani constituency, Kataram agriculture market committee chairman Challa Narayana Reddy is disappointed with Putta Madhukar being given the ticket. He is in dilemma whether or not to support Madhukar.

In Choppadandi constituency, BRS party leader Bandari Yadagiri who aspired for the party ticket is disappointed with MLA Sunke Ravishankar’s re-nomination. Yadagiri has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Choppadandi.

In Jagtial, sitting MLA Dr. S. Sanjay Kumar has succeeded in getting nominated again. He is now dependent on the support of M. Jithendar Rao, V. Ramana Rao and D. Vasantha who had been aspiring for the ticket.

In Huzurabad constituency, leaders of Mudiraj community and in Vemulawada, leaders of Reddy community are opposing the candidatures of Padi Koushik Reddy and Chalmeda Laxmi Narayana Rao. They have decided not to support the two leaders in the coming assembly elections.
