We will keep our promises, unlike BRS: Revanth

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy said, “We will implement the promised Rs 2 lakh loan waiver after we come to power\"

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said that the Congress will win the polls, usher in ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ in Telangana state and keep all promises made to the public, in an address to the party cadre who joined the ranks in the Chevella Assembly segment.

Among the promises is the Rs 4,000 pension to the old, widows, handicapped, beedi workers, single women, handloom workers, toddy tappers, AIDS patients, filarial and dialysis patients.

Revanth Reddy said, “People had hoped that their lives would improve if Telangana state materialises. But KCR forgot the welfare of the people and did not keep his promise on three acres for Dalits and double bedrooms. Farmers are not getting MSP for their crops. By saying cultivating paddy is equitable to resorting to suicide, he exposed his anti-farmer stance.”

“It was the Congress that gave land to Dalits, as well as Indiramma houses. KCR is expropriating public property for the benefit of his family and has amassed '1 lakh crore wealth along with 10,000 acres of land around Hyderabad. Those who question him are facing false cases. The government has done away with the loans at 25 paise interest and Bangaru Talli schemes,” Revanth said, in an attack on the BRS.

He said: “We will implement the promised '2 lakh loan waiver after we come to power and fill the two lakh job vacancies in the state. Gas cylinders will be given at '500 and insurance limit under Aarogyasri will be increased to '5 lakh. We will give '5 lakh to every deserving poor person.”

Later, in a social media post, Revanth Reddty blamed the Meerpet rape incident on availability of marijuana and other intoxicants in Hyderabad.

“The incidents in Singareni Colony and Meerpet today are a cause for concern. The police are being misused for political purposes and not being allowed to do their duty. We should revolt against this rule,” he said, citing the party’s slogan of ‘Thiragabadadam-Tarimikodadam.’

Those who joined the Congress on Tuesday include PACS director Rajasekhar Reddy, former market committee director Sreekanth, former ZPTC from BJP Ravinder, former sarpanchs and BRS cadre.
