Dinesh's remarks show his political immaturity: Ramesh Kumar
Bengaluru: Virtually snubbing Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) Working President, Dinesh Gundurao, Health and Family Welfare minister, K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Friday retorted that former's statement dragging BJP leader and former CM S.M. Krishna’s name into the recent I-T raids on his son-in-law, Siddhartha, shows his political immaturity.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Kumar asserted that he did not approve of Mr Rao’s statement on Mr Krishna. “There is a clear demarcation in politics and one has to respect that. I think Mr Rao has violated this. Mr Krishna is a highly respected leader among all, cutting across party lines, like the BJP's former prime minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee. I entirely oppose the BJP's ideology but that does not stop me from having respect for Mr Vajpayee. Similarly, there are people who respect Mr Krishna," he explained.
Mr Rao had stated that the BJP was blackmailing Congress leaders by using agencies like the CBI and the Income Tax department. “The BJP may have used such tactics on Mr Krishna, which might have forced him to join that party,” Mr Rao had stated on Thursday.
Earlier coming out in support of Congress legislator K.N. Rajanna's controversial remarks on the party, Mr Kumar heaped praise on Mr Rajanna stating that one needs a lot of courage to speak the truth. “I know Mr Rajanna personally, he is a straightforward person. He is someone who groomed himself as a leader with his organisational skills. One needs guts to talk like that,” he added.
Mr Ramesh Kumar even supported Mr Rajanna for his remarks that there are thieves in the Congress party.
