Pondicherry CM V Narayanasamy comes up trumps
Puducherry: The outcome of the Nellithoppe bypoll, has come as a major shot in the arm for Congress Chief Minister, V.Narayanasamy, whose selection to the top post was a controversial choice both inside and outside the party.
The thumping victory by a margin of over 11,000 votes in the small constituency would help him emerge stronger within the party and in the ruling Congress -DMK combine.
Narayanasamy can now silence the rebels and opposition voices inside his party and those who were waiting for a chance to unseat him. Narayanasamy is the 10th Chief Minister of Puducherry where only four had completed their full tenure. In most cases, it was rebellion within the party that led to the government toppling or the Chief Minister being replaced.
