BRS, Kavitha Silent on TBGKS Leaders' Resignations
Adilabad: The resignations of top Telangana Boggugani Karmika Sangam (TBGKS) leaders have sent shockwaves among its members. The resignations came just five days before the December 27 polling to decide on the recognized trade union in SCCL.
Three top leaders of the TBGKS resigned from their posts on Thursday in protest against the party’s decision not to contest the trade union elections in SSCL.
When other unions AITUC and INTUC made all-out efforts to win the elections, a pal of gloom descended on the camps of the TBGKS and confusion was palpable among the Singareni workers.
The BRS party's high command, especially TBGK’s honorary president K. Kavitha did not respond to the resignations but she appealed to the Singareni workers to vote for the TBGKS.
The three TBGKS leaders claimed that they resigned only when they were told by the honorary president that TBGKS should not contest the SSCL elections and asked to keep themselves away from the elections.
These leaders also claimed that they went to meet Kavitha but returned after a long wait since there was no response from her.
TBGKS general secretary Miryala Raji Reddy said the withdrawal from the poll was unfortunate. “I resigned from the post since there is no point in continuing in the union if it is not contesting the elections. He said party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao was not interested in the party’s trade union contesting the SSCL elections.
