Opposition protests MP suspensions in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Wearing black ribbons and wielding placards, leaders from the INDIA bloc (Congress, CPI, and CPM) held a spirited protest at Lenin Centre on Friday against the Parliament's suspension of 146 MPs.

Condemning the move as "anti-democratic," CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna accused the BJP of acting like a "terrorist party" and demanded the reinstatement of the suspended MPs. He further criticised the YSRC and TD MPs for their silence on the issue.

CPM state secretary V. Srinivasa Rao also questioned the opposition's lack of inquiry into the recent Parliament security breach, emphasizing their right to raise pertinent questions.

The protest highlighted the mounting opposition anger against the mass suspensions, drawing attention to concerns about parliamentary conduct and political dissent.
