State-level Muslim meet planned by YSRC in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A state-level meeting for Muslim minorities, called ‘Jayaho Muslims’, would be held here and at assembly constituency levels shortly.
This was announced at a meeting of public representatives and leaders from the Muslim community held here by the YSRC on Monday. At the meeting, YSR Congress general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the ruling party was committed to the cause of welfare of the Muslims.
“Chief minister Jagan Reddy had introduced several schemes for the benefit of Muslims, politically, socially and financially, by following the footsteps of his father and late CM YSR Reddy,” Sajjala noted.
“The Muslim brethren are also showing a lot of affection and love towards the YSR Congress party and chief minister Jagan,” he said.
Deputy CM Amjad Basha said, “We would organise a state-level meeting of Muslims called ‘Jayaho Muslims’ in Vijayawada and similar meetings would also be held at the assembly segment levels soon.”
The state government had not only allocated a whopping `20,000 crore for Muslim welfare, but also remitted that amount into the banks of the Muslims, to ensure their welfare and development, he said.
Basha said four MLAs of the ruling party were Muslim and another four were made MLCs by the chief minister. “I was made a deputy CM while a Muslim, Jakai Khanam, was made the deputy chairperson of the legislative council.”
