Nara Lokesh to assess leaders' performance
Vijayawada: TD national general secretary Nara Lokesh has been assigned a new responsibility of assessing the performance of party leaders and TD’s public representatives in a scientific way.
As part of that, he will be holding periodical meetings with the newly appointed TD district presidents and review the implementation of government schemes.
In the recent Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency meeting, he has shown a way to the rest of his colleagues as to how the issues of public concern should occupy a major share in the constituency level meetings, keeping in view the 2019 elections.
In the Vijayawada Parliamentary party meeting, Mr Lokesh was able to identify the differences of opinion on some issues among the party leaders and immediately, he convened a combined meeting with all party MLAs and MLCs under Vijayawada parliamentary segment. They were reportedly told to shun group politics and advised to work for strengthening the party.
The house pattas’ issue to the hillock residents is priority, Mr. Lokesh told the leaders and asked them to have a continuous interaction with the inmates of the houses on hillocks. “Let us not leave any issue unaddressed,” he told the leaders and cadres.
Similarly, Mr. Lokesh has asked other districts’ party leaders to get a complete list of loan waiver beneficiaries and also asked them to segregate as to how many YSRC leaders or sympathisers are there in the list.
“The message should be disseminated in a speedy way to the masses that the YSRC people are also the beneficiaries of the loan waiver,” Mr. Lokesh suggested.
He advised his IT wing to prepare a scientific model, to assess the performance of the leaders from village level to the parliamentary constituency level across the state.
He wants party leaders to engage in eliciting details of self help groups’ performance and as to how their services could be utilised to strengthen the party base in an effective manner. “We have got some tough instructions, but Mr. Lokesh said all should deliver quality service to strengthen the party,” a Vijayawada urban TD leader said.
