HYDERABAD: The Telangana BJP’s social media team is expected to get some heft and muscle with the party deciding to appoint Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri as the head of the party’s social media committee in the state.
The state BJP has around 50 persons working on its social media team and has been active promoting the party programmes, and taking aim at the BRS and the state government. Arvind has more than a million followers on Twitter alone and was picked because he could ensure clear and to-the-point communication as required on social media platforms, party sources said.
With a new leader set to take full-time charge of the social media activities of the BJP, some changes are expected in how the team will be working. Party sources said there is likely to be a social media war room which will do whatever is required to win the war, not just online but also in the coming elections.
