MP Avinash writes to CBI seeking review of Viveka probe

VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress MP YS Avinash Reddy has written a letter to CBI Director Praveen Sood, seeking a review of the CBI probe in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

In response to the charge sheets filed by the CBI in the past, he said, ”Senior officer Ram Singh acted in a biased manner in relation to the investigations into the Viveka case.”

The MP said Ram Singh conducted an investigation in violation of the rules before he took charge as an investigating officer. “Ram Singh threatened the witnesses and forced them to implicate my father Bhaskar Reddy and Sivasankar Reddy along with me.”

“PA Krishna Reddy was tortured by Ramsingh to get him to utter my name. Ram Singh completely changed the statements of many witnesses," Avinash Reddy stated in the letter.

"The CBI has conducted an investigation based on the words of fourth-accused, Dastagiri, who repeatedly lied. The CBI delayed the arrest of Dastagiri, who confessed to the murder. Neither the CBI nor Viveka’s daughter Sunitha opposed the anticipatory bail plea of Dastagiri, who killed Viveka," Avinash said in the letter.

The MP said, “Ram Singh has shown the unspoken words of CI Sankaraiah as evidence. CI Sankaraiah filed a complaint with Kadapa SP as also in Kadapa court. Another accused Udaykumar Reddy approached the court saying that CBI SP Ram Singh had subjected him to torture. A criminal case was registered against Ram Singh on the orders of the court.”

“The CBI's claim that second-accused Sunil Yadav came to my father Bhaskar Reddy's house on the day of the murder is a lie.”
