BC Welfare Minister Accuses Telugu Desam Party of Deceiving Kapu Community
Kakinada: BC welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna on Saturday alleged that Telugu Desam under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu has always deceived the Kapu community.
“The party made promises to Kapus, none of which have been kept,” he remarked, addressing women beneficiaries under Kapu Nestham, who organised a meeting at Venkatayapalem village in Ramachandrapuram mandal to thank Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for starting the scheme.
The minister recalled that before the 2014 elections, Chandrababu Naidu promised to provide reservations to Kapus and allocate Rs20,000 crore to the community for five years. He did not fulfill this promise. “Chandrababu Naidu allocated only Rs10 crore to Kapus in five years instead of Rs20,000 crore,” he underlined.
Venugopala Krishna said when Kapu leaders asked Chandrababu Naidu about his promise to include Kapus in the BC reservation list, illegal cases had been booked against them. He alleged that the former CM has now hatched a conspiracy to deceive Kapus again in the coming elections with the help of Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan.
Ramachandrapuram municipal chairperson Gadamsetty Sridevi, ZPTCs, sarpanches, and MPTCs were present at the thanks-giving meeting.
