PMKs announcement comes days after the AIADMK and DMK announced their candidates. Both parties had retained their respective nominees they had announced for the May 16 Assembly general election.
In Aravakkurichi V Senthil Balaji (AIADMK) and K C Palanisamy (DMK), in Thanjavur, M Rengasamy (AIADMK), and Anjugam Boopathy (DMK) (Thanjavur) are in the fray.
In Thirupparankundram, AIADMKs A K Bose and DMKs P Saravanan (DMK) are the major contenders. PMK had strongly criticised both AIADMK and DMK for naming the same candidates in Aravakkurichi and Thanjavur in view of Election Commissions findings of distribution of money and gifts to voters.
