Hyderabad: Rain hits BRS campaign, KCR meeting on Saturday cancelled

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy's visit to districts was delayed as he was forced to travel by road instead of helicopter due to rains

HYDERABAD: Rains played spoilsport for political parties engaged in hectic, last-minute campaigning on Friday. Parties are worried about the rain forecast over the next few days and possible disruption to the crucial last leg of campaigning before the November 28 deadline.

The BRS cancelled Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s public meeting at Parade Ground, scheduled for Saturday. Rao’s meeting was to focus on Assembly segments falling in Hyderabad and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies.

The party announced that the decision to cancel the meeting was taken in view of the inclement weather and predictions of rains for the next two to three days. However, party sources said that there was a possibility that the meeting could be rescheduled to a date before November 28.

Incidentally, Saturday’s meeting was the only event scheduled for the Chief Minister in the twin cities.

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy's visit to districts was delayed as he was forced to travel by road instead of helicopter due to rains.

Revanth Reddy was supposed to leave Hyderabad by helicopter to address successive public meetings in Nakrekal, Thungathurthy, Alair and Kamareddy in four hours from 11 am. He left for Nakrekal by road due to which all other meetings were rescheduled by a few hours.

His Kamareddy tour slated for Saturday has been postponed.
