Telangana lost more than it gained in 10 years, says BJP leader Lekhi

Hyderabad: BJP leader and Union minister of state for external affairs and culture Meenakshi Lekhi on Friday said it was time to assess what Telangana had gained in the last 10 years and opined that it has lost more than it had gained.

Addressing media persons on Friday, she said, “Telangana, which had a surplus budget, has fallen into a debt trap. A majority of the schemes launched in the state have resulted in scams. The government is incapable of proper planning and implementation. The government has been appeasing some sections and discriminating against others. The four per cent reservation given for Muslims is nothing but appeasement and is against the Constitution.”

She accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi of divisive politics.

Referring to the war between Israel and Hamas, she said, “We accept the right of Palestinians to exist as a separate nation. At the same time, what happened on October 7 is also not acceptable. We want the terrorism to end.”
