Kakinada: Former home minister Chegondi Hare Ramajogaiah has alleged that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan dashed the hopes of Kapus and “he is getting ready to mortgage Kapus” to Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
However, he made it clear that Kapus would allow themselves to be cheated by political leaders.
He wrote a letter to the Kapu community on Sunday saying the present social trends in the state posed a threat to the existence of the Kapu community. “The political developments in the state are not in favour of Kapus.”
He said all political parties used Kapus like curry leaves and threw them away after every poll. “Kapus should not entertain such political tactics by their opponents. Kapus are not ready to be cheated by Chandrababu Naidu.”
After Vangaveeti Ranga, Kapus believed that Pawan Kalyan was seen as a leader for the community. But PK joined hands with Chandrababu Naidu. This is insulting to the Kapu community as PK had mortgaged Kapu interests to Chandrababu. Kapus believed that Pawan Kalyan would do something in favour of Kapus. But, because of the present developments, the allegations on Pawan Kalyan that he is taking packages from TD seem to be true.”
He wondered how TD leader Nara Lokesh declared Chandrababu Naidu as the next chief minister, without consulting Jana Sena.
“Chandrababu plotted a conspiracy to damage the self-respect of Kapus. Though I wrote an open letter to Pawan Kalyan about the present political trends, neither Pawan Kalyan nor the Jana Sena’s political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar responded to it.”
“Pawan Kalyan may eventually merge Jana Sena into the Telugu Desam. Kapus should raise their voice and protect the interests of the community,” he stated.
