First focus on Telangana, Raghunandan tells Harish
HYDERABAD: The BJP on Friday said BRS leaders, including Finance minister T Harish Rao, asking questions about whether Gujarat implements the PM Fasal Bima Yojana should first focus on Telangana and reflect on why the BRS government, which rejected the PMFBY, did not implement an alternative crop insurance scheme.
BJP Dubbak MLA M. Raghunandan Rao told reporters at a press meet that BRS leaders should first know that Gujarat implements a state-government-sponsored crop insurance scheme in the place of PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
“The Telangana government could have done the same but it did not. What is required for Gujarat, the Gujarat government does. Why do they always draw a comparison with Gujarat? You do what is required for Telangana,” Raghunandan Rao said.
“Each state has its own financial resources, its own requirements based on what people need. Harish Rao must have friends in opposition in Gujarat, he can ask them to find out why the Gujarat government has its own crop insurance scheme,” Raghunandan Rao said.
