Kharge urges Revanth to continue anti-BJP protests
Hyderabad: A team of PCC leaders, led by PCC president A. Revanth Reddy, met AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge at RGIA during his brief halt while proceeding to Delhi from Bengaluru.
The leaders, including AICC state in-charge Manikrao Thakre, briefed him about the progress of ‘Haath se Haath Jodo yatra’ and party’s campaigns in the state and the protest programmes against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha.
Revanth Reddy briefed him about the progress of his yatra, which he said had bolstered the spirit of the party cadre at the grass-root level.
Stating that Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification was only to stifle the voices of opposition, Kharge asked Revanth Reddy to continue the campaign upfront.
“The BJP and Modi are trying to subdue directly or indirectly whoever is questioning them. BJP felt threatened by the way Rahul Gandhi has evolved by walking some 4,000 km while highlighting the failures of the Union government. We will be protesting at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday,” Revanth Reddy said.
Senior leaders N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Nadeem Javed, Rohit Chowdhury and Mohammed Ali Shabbir were present.
