YSR Congress leaders lash out at Naidu for 'insulting' Dalits
Vijayawada: YSR Congress leaders, especially from the SC communities, have resolved to target TD chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, demanding that he end his political career as he kept “humiliating” the Dalits.
In a meeting held at the YSR Congress headers here on Monday, several ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, ZP chairpersons and other leaders belonging to the SC communities felt the need to create more awareness on how their government was helping the Dalits through a series of welfare schemes.
Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna lashed out at the TD chief, saying Naidu was encouraging attacks on Dalits during his government’s term in the state. “Dalits should not to fall prey to the conspiracy of Naidu to win their favour,” the minister said.
He attributed credit to CM Jagan for the governmental allocation of nearly Rs.53,000 crore for the welfare of Dalits in the state in the last four years of the YSRC rule.
Deputy CM Narayana Swamy said Dalits would teach a befitting lesson to Naidu and his son Lokesh for their attacks on minister Adimulapu Suresh.
Transport minister Pinepe Viswaroop said that out of the 29 SC and ST reserved assembly segments, the YSRC had won 28. Municipal administration minister Adimulapu Suresh alleged that the TD leader was interested in using Dalits as a vote bank, but not interested in providing welfare to the Dalits.
YSR Congress general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy underlined the need for the party leaders to reach out to the Dalits to create awareness on the kind of welfare schemes being implemented for them in saturation mode without giving any chance for graft.
