BRS Misusing Political Power: BJP
HYDERABAD: The BRS is misusing the political power given by the people and trying to suppress the voice of the opposition leaders who are questioning the state government by arresting them illegally, alleged BJP state official spokesperson Rani Rudrama in Hanamkonda on Sunday.
Speaking to the media here she said, “To malign the image of the BJP, the Congress leaders intentionally spread false propaganda that the BJP and BRS had an internal understanding, which is not true. The emergency that was imposed by the late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was proof of the autocratic rule done by the then Congress government. The same situation prevailed in Telangana under the ruling of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.”
She further added that the BJP was the only party that fought against the emergency during the period of Indira Gandhi and against the autocratic rule of CM KCR now in Telangana state. Several BJP leaders, like Sushma Swaraj, fought for the separate Telangana state, she reminded.
Rani Rudrama stated that the BJP government sanctioned '4 lakh crore to the Telangana government till date. IT minister K.T. Rama Rao lied that the Central government had allocated only Rs 1.6 lakh crore to the Telangana government in nine years, she said.
The BRS government didn’t allot space for the establishment of the Railway Coach Factory in Kazipet and the Tribal University in Mulugu. When the BJP government sanctioned crores of rupees of funds to Telangana state, the BRS leaders, by diverting that money, filled their pockets. She demanded that the BRS leaders should explain to the people what they did with Rs 196 crore that were sanctioned by the BJP government under the smart city project in Warangal city, she said.
