KCR backing Congress for post-poll benefit: Arvind

HYDERABAD: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was strategically backing the Congress in the Assembly elections because he had realised that the BJP was becoming stronger.

Of the 21 Congress MLAs elected in 2014, seven switched loyalties to the BRS, he said. In 2018, 12 of 18 Congress MLAs jumped over to the ruling party, he said.

Speaking during his Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan in Nizamabad Urban and Armoor Assembly constituencies, Arvind said that in the forthcoming election, Rao again had planned to poach Congress MLAs.

Arvind said that Congress leaders were alleging that the BRS and the BJP had come to an electoral understanding but in reality, Rao was a big beneficiary of the Congress situation. People should keenly observe the BRS-Congress movements, he suggested.
