Former Haryana Minister and present lawmaker from Sirsa assembly constituency, Gopal Goyal Kanda has been acquitted in suicide abetment case of former air hostess Geetika Sharma on Tuesday. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court also acquitted the co-accused Aruna Chadha. Trial court had framed charges against the duo under 306 (Abetment of Suicide), 506 (Criminal Intimidation), 201 (Destruction of Evidence), 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) and 466 (Forgery). It had also framed charges under 376 (Rape) and 377 (Unnatural Sex) against Gopal Kanda which were quashed later by the Delhi High Court.
