Ramagundam MLA failed to develop Lord Shiva temple: Congress
KARIMNAGAR: Korakanti Chander Patel, the BRS Ramagundam MLA, allegedly deceived not only the people of his constituency but also Lord Shiva by promising to develop the ancient Trilanga Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Janagama village, said DCC president Makkan Singh Raj Tagore after offering prayers at the temple here in Peddapalli district on Monday.
Raj Tagore said that MLA Chander Patel adopted the Janagama village and assured the villagers that he would develop not only the village but also the Swayambu Shivalayam temple with ₹2 crore in funding. However, even after completing his term as an MLA, he failed to keep his commitment and did not undertake any developmental activity in the village or at the temple. The worshippers face numerous difficulties due to a lack of basic facilities at the historic shrine. Even with light rain, the temple's surroundings are inundated with water, causing hardships for worshippers who visit the site, he claims.
Because to the farmers of Janagama village who donated their properties to the management of Singareni Collieries, the company was able to expand its coal mines and reap substantial benefits from mining operations. So it is the Singareni management's minimum responsibility to take the initiative for the development of the historic Trilanga Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Janagama village, he said.
He threatened that the Congress would take up the issue demanding that the state government develop the historic Shivalayam temple and would increase the agitation. Along with others, Congress leaders Shiva, Ch. Srinivas, M. Ranga Rao, S. Yellaiay, P. Venkateshwarlu, K. Ravi Goud, and E. Satish were present.
